Charles “Brian” Bird, age 48 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.

Brian was born on December 3, 1976, in Paducah, Kentucky, the son of Debbie Sikorski.  He married Steve Maxey on April 27, 2016, in Cancun, Mexico and he survives in Salem. In addition to his partner, he is survived by his mother and stepfather, Debbie Sikorski and husband Paul of Vienna; stepson, Hunter Maxey of Salem; and brother, Mike Bird. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Gillespie.

Brian attended Salem Grace Church of the Nazarene.  He had worked for many years as a travel agent.  He enjoyed traveling, loved the water and his dogs.

A Celebration of Life for Brian Bird will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Trent Ice officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s Choice and can be received at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
