MT. VERNON – A Mt. Vernon man was recently lodged in the Jefferson County Jail for Criminal Sexual Assault and Possession of Child Pornography.
According to the sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Michael W. McClanahan was arrested Saturday as a result of an investigation initiated by a complaint made to sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 5 alleging McClanahan was threatening a woman.
Sheriff’s detectives uncovered evidence that McClanahan had sexual contact with multiple underage girls in Jefferson and Hamilton counties. A search warrant was obtained for electronic devices and served on McClanahan. Evidence was obtained from the electronic examination of the collected device.
