
Paula M. (Moore) Qualls, age 82 of Salem, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at her home.
Paula was born on December 9, 1943, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Darrell and Beryl (Crane) Moore. She married Larry Hugh Qualls and after 63 years united in marriage he preceded her in death on November 17th, 2025.
Survivors include her daughter, Kristin Miller and husband Douglas of Salem; grandchildren, Lorenzo O. Qualls of Highland, Andrew T. Qualls and wife Amberle of Highland, Kimberly A. Rakers and husband Chad of Beckemeyer, Dylan W. Miller of Salem, and Kayla M. Miller of Ballwin, Missouri; her cherished great grandchildren, Kaydence Hemker, Sydney Rakers, Hailynn Rakers, and Hudson Qualls; nieces, Sharon Beasley and husband Randy, Pam Domkuski and husband Frank, and Jeanine Russell and husband Rob; a special cousin, Lynne Jones and husband Rick; and her cat, Sugar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Beryl; her husband, Larry; a son, Hugh Brent Qualls, a brother, Robert “Bob” Moore; a sister, Jean Ann Phipps; and a nephew, Allen Moore.
Paula was employed for several years as a legal secretary at the Pfaff, Garner & Terlizzi Law Office in Salem. In her earlier years, she was an active member of the Odin Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School and shared her love of music through singing. In later years, she attended Freedom Church in Salem. Paula was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and also found great joy in attending gospel concerts.
Celebration of Life services for Paula Qualls will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. There will be a time to visit with the family from 1:00p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the City of Salem Animal Control to be used to help purchase food and supplies and will be received at the funeral home.
