PARIS, Ill. (AP) — A 23-year-old Illinois mother has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the death of her 2-year-old son.

Selena Hall of Paris, Illinois, was sentenced Tuesday in an Edgar County courtroom. She had pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in September.

Landon Weaver died Nov. 10, 2014, at a children’s hospital in Indianapolis where he was airlifted. An autopsy found he died of multiple blunt force trauma.

Hall’s boyfriend, 34-year-old James Zachary Watson, still faces charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter and obstruction of justice. His next court hearing is Friday.

Hall’s attorneys have said she herself was a victim of domestic violence, but prosecutors described her as cold and indifferent.
