WASHINGTON COUNTY — The body of an 18-year-old Ashley man was found in a rural cabin near Okawville on Sunday. 

According to Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger, his office was dispatched to a cabin on Bottom Prairie Road Sunday afternoon to a report of a dead body.

Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Fletcher pronounced Dakota Ellerbusch of Ashley dead at 5:15 p.m.Sunday.

The coroner’s report indicates that Ellerbusch had not been seen since Friday evening by his family.  Foul play is not suspected but a cause of death cannot be determined until toxicology testing is complete. 

The incident is being investigated by the Okawville Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, and the Washington County Coroner’s office.
