SALEM — Brenda Rose Nix, 76, of Salem, Illinois passed away at her home Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the loving care of her family.

She was born March 26 1946 in Marion County, IL the daughter of Claude E. and Evelyn W. (Robertson) Casner.

Brenda was an RN, working for several years for the Visiting Nurse Association in this area. She was a member of Evergreen Christian Church in Salem. She dearly loved spending time with family.

She united in marriage with Gary W. Nix, on April 2, 1964, in Salem and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, Gary D. Nix and wife Vicki and Terry S. Nix and wife Aimee all of Odin, IL. Also her grandchildren Erica (Cory) Nix, Jamie (Derek) Miller, Seth (Lexi) Nix, Lance Nix and Mitch Nix along with six great-grandchildren including Cohen Hatfield, Lorelei Hatfield, Everlee Hatfield, Brynn Miller, Claire Miller and Grace Nix; her siblings Harry Howell of Springfield, IL and Patricia Hutton, of Arcola, IL.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son Donald L. Nix, sister Lily Kinney and brothers David Casner and Harvey Howell.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Shannon Bopp officiating. There will be no public visitation. The family invites you to gather with them at the ceremony in time for the service on Wednesday.
