SALEM — Barbara Ann Wachholz, 85, of Salem, Illinois passed away at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX, cared for by her daughters.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 5-8 pm on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Salem Country Club There will be no public funeral or burial service. Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, Salem, IL, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881 618-548-1234 entrusted with the family’s care.

The family suggests memorials be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at sutherlandfuneralhome.com.

Barbara was born July 14, 1936, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of William Earl and Nettie (Woodward) Sapp.

She had retired from the Salem Gravure Division of World Color Press. She loved being with family and friends, eating together and was a Cardinal fan.

She was married to Bernard J. Wachholz and they later divorced.

Surviving are her daughters, Gina Walker and husband Jerry “Red Dog” of Salem, IL; Brenda Hutchcraft and husband Robert of Ridgeville, SC, and Rebecca Butler and husband Tim of Grand Prairie, TX, along with grandchildren Phillip Wachholz and wife Amy of Salem, IL, Shawn Keith and wife Elizabeth of Nashville, TN and Taylor Hutchcraft of Herndon, VR, along with seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also a bonus daughter, Brenda “Bones” Austin of Salem, IL, brother-in-law Charles Wachholz of Farina, IL and several close friends.
Also left to mourn her passing is Bill Sapp and wife Karen of Salem, IL and several nieces and nephews who dearly loved their “Aunt B.”

In addition to her parents and former husband, she is preceded in death by son Randy L. Wachholz and one great-grandson Randy L. Wachholz.
