CLINTON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced US 50, a half mile east of Huey Road in Clinton County, will be closed to all traffic beginning at 12 a.m. Thursday, October 6, weather permitting.

The work is necessary to replace an existing drainage structure. US 50 is expected to be reopened on Monday, October 10.

A detour directing motorist to IL 161 via IL 127 or US 50 will be posted. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to construction signage and watch for changing conditions, obey the posted speed limits, and refrain from using mobile devices.

The contractor on this project is DMS Contracting, Inc. of Mascoutah, Illinois.
