Gloriann M Nowland, 83, of Godfrey, Illinois, passed away at 9:35 am March 17, 2023 at  her residence.

Gloriann was born October 18, 1939 in Ashley, Illinois, a daughter of Albert J. and Helen (Pierjok) Someske. She married Donald Dean Nowland in Radom, Illinois on November 4, 1961. They were blessed with nearly fifty-seven years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 19, 2018.

Gloriann worked as a hairdresser at Famous-Barr and also as a self employed hairdresser for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Gloriann also belonged to the Westwood Trail Riders Club and Royal Neighbors.

Mrs. Nowland is survived by her son, Patrick Reed (Jill Atherton) Nowland of Godfrey, Illinois; brother, Arthur Ray (Crystal) Someski of Ashley, Illinois; and brother-in-law, Meredith Nowland of Ashley, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Marilyn Nowland.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Deacon Mark Kabat and Mr. Gene Newberry officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Gloriann’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
