MOUNT VERNON — John William Partridge, 61, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away on July 31, 2023 at his home after a long illness. He was born May 8, 1962, the youngest son of William Stanley Partridge and Sharon Lorraine Hughey.

John was the grandson to Rev. Ross and Laura Partridge and J. Frank and Theo Hughey, all of whom proceeded him in death.

He is survived by his brother Craig and sister-in-law Dorothy, his sister Sara Partridge, his sister Susan Partridge-Metz and brother-in-law Dan, and Aunt Beverly Partridge and cousin Carol Long and her husband Kevin.

John was a proud and dedicated employee of the Neon Sign Company for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, relaxing in his pool and all things country and outdoors. His favorite country singers were Hank Williams Jr. and George Strait. He rooted for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Crimson Tide and supported the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his dog “Jimmie” and had been looking forward to a duck hunting trip in Arkansas this fall.

The Family suggests donations be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society or Meals on Wheels in his remembrance. Burial will be held at a later date at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois next to Papa Frank and Grandma Theo.  A memorial service date is pending.
