MOUNT VERNON — Janice Kaye  Hale, 75, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 7:59 am December 20, 2023 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon.

She was born March 13, 1948 in Mount Vernon to the late Dorothy Elizabeth (Sexton) Duncan. Janice married Paul E. Hale on August 12, 1966 in Mount Vernon. He preceded her in death. Janice is survived by her daughter, Andrea Kaye Hulvey of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Caleb Hale and wife, Kimberly of Wayne City, Illinois, and Haley Lowery of Mount Vernon; great-grandchildren, Caroline Gregory, Brinna Cook, Ellis Lowery, and Jonathen Scoonover; special friend, Sandra Richardson; sisters, Carol Lee Lilly and husband, John of Navarre, Florida, Peggy Barta and husband, Pete of Hollsopple, Pennsylvania,  Debra Carrasco and husband Ray of Orosi, California, and Donna McCormick and husband, Richard of Flora, Illinois;  brothers, Roger Duncan and wife, Kara of Olney, Illinois, Bruce Alan Duncan of Peoria, Illinois, and Ronald Lee Duncan of Olney; 37 Nieces and Nephews; 65 Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews; and Ten Great-Great-Nieces and Great-Great-Nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by her son, Paul Gregory Hale; and siblings, Robert Duncan, Mary Laird, Jody Gertsch, Kenny Wayne Duncan, and Richard Duncan.

A Visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jason Newell officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
