CENTRALIA — May Etta Chapman, 87, of Centralia, passed away at 10:41 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, in Centralia.

She was born May 17, 1936, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Edward and Edith Eileen (Kern) Masters.  On September 3, 1955, at Antioch Christian Church in Texico, she married Clark E. Chapman, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1998.

She is survived by three nephews, Greg Masters and wife Edna of Kell, Russell Lee Chapman and wife Michelle of Washington D.C., and Kenneth A. Chapman and wife Kenna of Champaign; three nieces, Marlena Pate of Beckemeyer, Kayla Thomas and husband Ron of Salem, and Jeanna Chapman of Salem; great nephews, Tyson Thomas and wife Stephanie, James Masters and wife Jodanna, Steven Adam Pate, and Joshua Pate and wife Alley; and great nieces, Taylor Thomas, Debbie Beard and husband Matthew, Kristy Pate, and Lora Densmore and husband Shane.

In addition to her husband, Clark E. Chapman, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lowell Kern Masters and Raymond Edward Masters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Chapman will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Brad Green officiating.  Burial will follow at Donoho Prairie Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to Donoho Prairie Cemetery, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
