WALNUT HILL — Michael L. Schramke, 76, of Walnut Hill, passed away on April 1, 2024, at his home.

He was born on February 28, 1948, in Belleville, Illinois, the son of Edmund “Ed” and Margaret “Mary” (Klein) Schramke.  He was the youngest of four children. His siblings are James Schramke, Bill Schramke, and Jan Stone.Mr. Schramke was a carpenter, and retired after 35 years in the carpenters union.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed dealing in antiques. He graduated from Mascoutah High School. Michael was a devout Christian and his unfailing love for his personal savior, Jesus Christ, was his walk in life.

He is survived by one son, Michael “Jamie” Schramke and wife Kim of Pinckneyville;  three daughters, Joy Renaud and husband Matt of Texico, Jodi Biggerstaff and husband Kevin of McLeansboro, and Jackie Price and husband Paul of Mt. Vernon;  12 grandchildren, Cari, Jamie, Kidd, Matthew, Johny, Olivia, Gracie, Kali, Joey, Tristin, Courtney, and Colton;  and 15 great-grandchildren.
